Frequently Asked Questions Related to Gambling
Question: What is a "burned" card?
Answer: A burned card is a card that is not used and put aside when dealing, usually in between deals. For example, it would be like: Deal a card, burn a card, deal a card, etc. This is done when laying out the community cards in Texas Hold'em, for instance.
Question: I'm a woman and considering making poker my career. Is this possible?
Answer: Of course, as long as you possess the skills required to make you a substantial amount of money, poker playing is becoming a common source of income, for both men and women.
Question: Is there such a thing as having three pairs in Texas Hold'em?
Answer: No. You always use the best 5 cards possible out of your pocket cards and community cards. Let's say your pocket cards are a 3 and a 5. The community cards show a 3, a 5, and 2 jacks as well. This would not mean you have 3 pairs (3's, 5's, and Jacks) You would have 2 pairs of Jacks and 5's.
